Dry Grinding procedure by Quality Marble Polishing

Marble floor grinding can be done using a wet or dry process. Wet grinding involves using water to cool the diamond abrasive pads and reduce dust and debris.

It is typically used for softer stones such as marble, limestone, and travertine.

The dry grinding process is usually used for more durable stones like granite and terrazzo. In this process, a dry diamond abrasive pad is used to grind the surface of the marble.

Dry grinding can produce a lot of dust and debris, so it is important to use proper dust containment systems to protect workers' health and keep the work area clean.

Here is a general step-by-step guide to the marble floor grinding process:

Inspect the floor to be ground and identify any problem areas or imperfections that need to be addressed.

Repair any cracks or chips in the marble using a suitable epoxy or other repair material.

Vacuum the floor to remove any dust and debris.

If using the wet process, apply water to the floor and wet the diamond abrasive pads.

Begin grinding the floor with a coarse grit diamond abrasive pad. Start at the farthest corner of the room and work your way backward.

As you grind, periodically check the surface of the marble for scratches and marks. If you see any, switch to a finer grit pad to smooth them out.

Continue grinding the floor with progressively finer grit pads until you achieve the desired level of shine.

If using the dry process, use a dry-only vacuum to remove the dust and debris from the floor.

If using the wet process, mop the floor with a neutral pH cleaner to remove any remaining abrasive particles and restore the marble's natural pH balance.

Allow the floor to dry completely before walking on it or replacing furniture.
